Post 22 advances to state, look at Brookings bracket
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Post 22 heads to the state tournament after a shutout sweep against Huron Post 7 on Thursday and Friday. The Hardhats beat Huron 8-0 and 13-0 securing their spot in the next week’s tournament in Brookings. Post 22 is playing for its 45th state title. Post 22 is the only West River team who advanced. Applications now open for SD Game, Fish and Parks youth deer hunt
South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks partners with the Missouri River Corridor Youth Hunt to offer a free first-time deer hunting opportunities for youth. The program is limited to four youth ages 10 to 15. Participants learn how to select the correct ammunition and firearm for deer hunting while learning firearm safety.
Pig Rescued Recently from the Big Sioux River Has Passed Away
Some sad news. The pig that was rescued last week from the banks of the Big Sioux River has passed away. Dakota News Now reports that a small pig was spotted on the banks of the Big Sioux on Thursday, (July 18) which prompted Sioux Falls Animal Control and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue to snap into action to perform a water rescue just north of Falls Park a short time later.

Online School Registration Open for Madison Central
Annual online registration is open for students who will be attending the Madison Central School District this year. Parents of students are asked to log into their Parent Portal account to complete the online registration by August 2nd. Torrential Monsoon Rains, Flooding Possible In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says torrential rains leading to flooding are possible in southeast Wyoming today and especially on Saturday [July 27]. The agency posted the following on its website: brief return of monsoon moisture is expected on Friday and Saturday. This will bring scattered to numerous storms to the area during the afternoon and evening. Torrential rains could exist in these storms which could lead to possible flooding concerns on both days.
