At Least One St. Cloud Area School Will Offer Boys Volleyball in 2025
The Minnesota State High School League approved boys volleyball as a high school sport last year. The first season of boys high school volleyball as a full fledged sport in Minnesota will be during the 2024-2025 school year. The season will be offered in the spring of 2025. Cathedral Activities Director Emmett Keenan is a former MSHSL board member and active participant within the league. He says the largest interest in the state in the sport is in the Twin Cities metro where enrollments are larger and the following appears greater.
Sartell man, 38, killed in Waite Park construction accident
WAITE PARK, Minn. — Police in central Minnesota say a man died after part of a crane fell on him Tuesday morning at a construction site.The Waite Park Police Department says the incident happened on the 400 block of Seventh Avenue North shortly before 11 a.m.A large section of a crane was being assembled when it fell from an elevated workstation, pinning a man underneath it, police say. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as 38-year-old Dylan Barthel, of Sartell, and said his cause of death had been multiple blunt force injuries.

St. Joe Planning Pop Up Slash Pad
The City of St. Joseph is planning a pop up splash pad for Saturday August 3 offered by the St. Joe Recreation Department and the St. Joe Fire Department. The splash pad will be from 1-3 p.m. in the field behind the city Government Center off of Callaway Street East.
One Injured Following Head-On Collision in Ottertail
Ottertail, MN – At around 6:49 Thursday morning (July 25th), the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in the City of Ottertail. According to officials, a Subaru Outback was heading south on Highway 78 and a Chevy sedan was heading north, when the two collided near County Road 1.
Body of missing Minnesota college student recovered from river in Montana
CARBON COUNTY, Mont. (FOX 9) - The body of the missing Minnesota college student and hiker was recovered from a river in Montana on Wednesday. According to officials, the body of Dylan Honnoll was recovered from a river in the Beartooth Mountains, northwest of Red Lodge, Montana. Honnoll's body was found under fast-moving water.

Minnesota DNR has added No. 11 to its pool of Scientific & Natural Areas (SNA) in Lake Superior's Minnesota neighborhood, it announced this week. "The new 25 acre Icelandite Coastal Fen Scientific and Natural Area was acquired by the DNR with help from Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and Reinvest in Minnesota. The site is 11 miles northeast of Grand Marais and is one of only two known fens on coastal wetlands on Minnesota's North Shore." This aerial view by T. HOSTED BY: ORTHOPEDIC SPORTS FIELD (OSF) SARTELL/SARTELL HIGH SCHOOL (SHS) The Sauk Rapids Post 254 defeated their rivals St. Cloud 76ers, they out hit them nine to three. They collected a double, they had four players with multi-hit games. They put up four runs in the first and they played errorless defense. Their starting pitcher was Ethan Swanson, he threw 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up two singles, one walk and he recorded nine strikeouts. Ben Rothstein threw 2/3 of an inning in relief to earn the save, he gave up one hit.
