Milling and paving to take place in the City of Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) – The City of Elmira Department of Public Works has announced an upcoming milling and paving project on City streets.

The project will begin on Monday, July 8, with milling that will take place until Friday, June 12. Paving of the streets will occur between Wednesday, July 10, and Tuesday, July 16, weather-dependent. Rain days will move paving to the following day. All work is subject to change based on weather and equipment availability.

Milling and paving will be taking place on the following streets:

• Market St. through Lake Street to Madison Ave.
• Park Place through Clinton St. to Washington Ave.
• Woodlawn Ave through Clemens Center to Davis St.

All residents and businesses located on the above-listed streets will be notified by crews of the exact dates that milling and paving will begin. All residents and businesses on the streets where work is being performed will need to remove their vehicle from the street and out of their driveways before 6 a.m. on the day their area will be worked on.

All streets will be reopened when milling and paving are finished, as well as the period between milling and paving. Drivers are reminded to drive carefully through work zones and allow extra time for travel while work is being completed.
