UPDATE: Arnot Health has released an update regarding the power outages at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira, while Chemung County has released information about the closure of certain facilities today.

According to a post on Facebook, power has been restored to the St. Joseph’s campus, but certain services, like rehabilitation, are canceled for today. Patients who have an endoscopy procedure are being moved to the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

Power is still off at the orthopedics and urology office on Hoffman Street along with the plastic surgery office on Water Street.

In a release from Chemung County, certain health department facilities are closed for the day due to damage and power outages from Monday’s storms.

The county states that the vital record office in the Peter Chalk Pavilion is closed today and is not able to process birth or death records.

The environmental health staff located in the Peter Chalk Pavilion have been located for the day. If you have water samples or other samples, the county asks they go to the health department offices in the Gridley Building. If you have any questions call 607-737-2028.

According to Arnot Health, some Arnot facilities throughout Elmira are still without power on Tuesday and have shut down operations for the day.

    Those areas are:

    • St. Joseph’s Rehab, including hand therapy
    • Outpatient Psychiatry
    • Gastroenterology
    • MRI
    • Health Sevices Building

Arnot Health added that the Hoffman Street facility for urology and orthopedics is closed as well.

Any patients with appointments at these facilities are asked to make calls to the offices to have them rescheduled.

These closings do not impact the main Arnot campus on Roe Avenue, as the building is fully functional.
