Elmira School District to provide free school supplies

ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Parents with kids in the Elmira City School District don’t need to shop for school supplies this year.

The Elmira City School District announced that it will once again provide school supplies for all of its students for the 2024-2025 school year. Kids are welcome to bring their own supplies if they’d prefer to, but it isn’t necessary. The only thing families will need to provide for their students is a backpack.

The district said that providing all pre-k through 12th-grade students equal access to school supplies promotes academic success. Additionally, the district can buy supplies for a fraction of what parents would pay by buying in bulk.

Support from community agencies has helped make it possible for the Elmira CSD to provide its students with supplies. People who represent community agencies that would like to support Elmira students and families by making a donation should contact the district’s business office by calling 607-735-3054.
