    Teen injured after falling off the roof of a car in Elmira

    ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — A teen was taken to the hospital early Monday morning after police said he fell off the roof of a car.

    According to the Elmira Police Department, around 1:24 a.m. on Monday, July 22, police responded to the 300 block of Walnut Street for a reported incident involving a 16-year-old male and a vehicle.

    The report states that officers arrived and found the victim and started giving medical aid before he was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, and is listed as stable.

    Three people killed during Chemung crash

    Witnesses at the scene told police they saw the teen standing on the roof of a car as it was driving at a high rate of speed.

    Police said that the teen fell off the car while it was moving, hitting the ground and causing his injuries.

    Police have located the driver and said they are cooperating with the investigation.
