Elmira College’s Domitrovic signs with French pro hockey team

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Elmira College Hockey standout Nicholas Domitrovic is going pro.

Elmira College men’s hockey fan favorite, Nicholas Domitrovic has signed to play professionally in France. The 4-year forward will join Les Ours Villard de Lans (Bears Villard de Lans) in the French Ice Hockey Federation’s (FFHG) Division 1. The Bears are the defending champions of Division 2, which is the 3rd highest level of hockey in the country. The Bears’ 2023-24 Championship has promoted them Division 1 for the upcoming season. The FFHG is comprised of the highest level, Ligue Magnus, and lower Divisions 1 through 3.

Domitrovic is fresh off of his best college season, wracking up career-high marks in goals (18), assists (20), and points (38), as well as earning All-NEHC honors. With the former Soaring Eagles assistant captain on the ice, EC won the 2020-21 UCHC Tournament Championship, and appeared twice in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Overall, the Ottawa, Ontario native wrapped up his Elmira College career scoring 38 goals, with 6 game winners, 11 power play tallies, and 1 short handed. Additionally, Domitrovic added 44 career assists over 86 games.

Domitrovic and Villard de Lans will begin their 2024-25 campaign in Division 1, this October.
