Two local players are set for arbitration.

Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren and Islanders forward Oliver Wahlstrom both filed for salary arbitration, the NHL Players Association announced Friday.

There were 14 players across the league who did so.

A date will be set for them and their respective teams to present their cases to an independent arbitrator for what their salary will be for the 2024-25 season.

Lindgren, 26, is a restricted free agent.

His physical style of play and relentlessness to play through injury have made him a fan favorite and one of the more popular players inside the locker room.

Jacob Trouba and the Rangers are at odds on a potential trade — and that’s OK

He has become a mainstay next to Adam Fox as a defensive pairing and has been on the Rangers’ top penalty-killing line.

He was plus-22 on the ice last year and recorded 14 points (three goals, 14 assists) in 76 regular-season games before adding three more assists in the playoffs.

The Rangers already extended a qualifying offer of $3.6 million earlier this week to prevent him from becoming an unrestricted free agent.

The 24-year-old Wahlstrom, the Islanders’ former first-round pick (No. 11 overall) in 2018, is a restricted free agent, as well.

The Islanders gave him a qualifying offer of $917,831 to avoid unrestricted free agency.

He recorded just six points (two goals and four assists) last year, his fifth with the team.
