On Tuesday, the NHL announced their 2024 Stanley Award winners.

The winners were chosen from 134 entries by the 32 NHL clubs, picked by an external judging panel of leaders in the sports and entertainment industry.

The New York Islanders won a Stanley Award for Venue Business Initiative, "an award recognizing the club and arena which improved the fan experience via enhancements."

The Park at UBS Arena is what earned the organization their first Stanley Award.

The Park, which consists of two rinks less than a minute's walk from the main entrance to the arena, allows for unique programming for youth hockey and Islanders’ game days.

One rink, Northwell Pond, hosts 4-on-4 hockey tournaments for youth and adult leagues. The second rink, Isles Pond, hosts Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, and Try Hockey for Free programs, which all parties view as imperative to growing the game.

The Northwell Pond is on the other side of the fence by the main entrance to the arena.

Isles Pond is located to the right when you enter Belmont Park from the Silver lot.

Other offerings include public skating sessions, an Isles Lab Swag Shack for team merchandise, food trucks, and a beer garden. On non-game days,

The Park also hosts watch parties, as we saw during their first-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes.

One of the coolest parts is that Shannon Hogan and Thomas Hickey also host MSGSN’s pregame coverage from the new space as well.
