On Sunday, the New York Islanders had three prospects play in the Junior Summer Showcase games in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Two suited up for Team USA's White team, with Cole Eiserman (2024, 1st Rd) starting as the top-line left winger alongside San Jose Sharks prospect Quinten Musty and Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Mac Swanson.

Defenseman Zach Schulz (2023, 6th Rd) served as the bottom-pairing left-side defenseman.

On the Finnish side, Jesse Nurmi (2023, 4th Rd) served as the second-line left-winger.

After the 60-minute affair, Team USA came away victorious 3-2. Musty, Cole Hutson (Washington Capitals), and James Reeder (Los Angeles Kings) lit the lamp for the Red, White, and Blue, and Joona Sarelaianen (Tampa Bay Lightning) scored both goals for Finland.

None of the Islanders' prospects got on the scoresheet, but the Daily Faceoff's Steven Ellis told The Hockey News that Eiserman was solid, showcasing his physicality as well as playing a strong brand of hockey on the penalty kill.

"He was quiet on the scoresheet from what I saw, but I thought he brought a ton of energy to the game," Ellis said.

Chris Peters of Flo Hockey added that Eiserman got robbed on an odd-man rush.

In his latest for NHL.com, Mike Morreale interviewed Eiserman, who hopes to make the Team USA roster for the World Juniors.

"It's definitely a different year," Eiserman told Morreale. "The draft is over and you kind of relax a little bit, and now it's just strictly trying to make a hockey team and doing the stuff that the coach says. I definitely feel a lot more comfortable this year, and I'm excited."

For the other two prospects, not much came out of the first game as they were quiet.

Once this summer showcase is over, he'll be headed to London, Ontario, as he was selected by the London Knights in the CHL's import draft, signing with them shortly after.
