Hasbrouck Heights Rec Track Athletes Compete at USATF Regionals
JERSEY CITY, NJ – The next generation of Hasbrouck Heights track stars sparkled at the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics Regionals held in Lincoln Park in Jersey City earlier in the month. Leon Kaiser placed first in the high jump, long jump and 80 meter hurdles. Competing in the 11-12 division, Kaiser finished the 80-meter hurdles in 13.60 seconds, long jumped 4.76 meters, and cleared 1.5 meters in the high jump. Maldonado competed in the 9-10 division and threw the shot put 6.92, while throwing 24.25 meters in javelin. Anthony Viso finished fourth in the shot put. Viso, competing in the 11-12 division, threw the shot put 8.33 meters. Woman fatally shot by police in her Fort Lee, New Jersey apartment building

NJ school principal and her son die in crash during family trip
ENGLEWOOD — An elementary school principal and her son died in a head-on crash in South Africa on the Fourth of July that claimed four lives. Daniela Small-Bailey, principal of the Dr. John Grieco Elementary School in Englewood, was with her son Sidanii Bell visiting with his two children who live in Dullstroom, South Africa, according to a statement from the Englewood School District.
