Last Chance to Register for Livingston Police Department’s Fifth Citizens Police Academy
LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Police Department (LPD) will be holding its fifth Citizens Police Academy from Sept. 4 to Oct. 9 in an effort to give residents a unique opportunity to understand the operations of their local police department and a working knowledge of what law enforcement entails. The deadline to submit applications for the 2024 class is July 31. The LPD hopes that this free six-week program will help strengthen the police-community rapport through an educational process, increase understanding of police practices and procedures, and dispose of misconceptions. The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity is looking to part ways with their 72,567-square office building on 4 West 43rd Street. A man died on Friday night shortly after he was shot in the city of East Orange, authorities said. A woman in her 20s was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday night after being stabbed repeatedly in a Queens subway station, authorities say.
