Prince Harry opened up about his ongoing feud with the British press. His candid remarks underscored a stark contrast between his proactive legal battles against tabloid intrusion and the royal family's more discreet dealings with media outlets.

Prince Harry has publicly discussed the profound impact of his crusade against tabloid newspapers, highlighting its role in exacerbating tensions within the royal family.

Speaking to ITV's Rebecca Barry for the documentary 'Tabloids on Trial', the Duke of Sussex, 39, delved into his reasons for pursuing legal action against media entities accused of invasive practices.

The interview, scheduled to air on Thursday, July 25, offered a preview where Harry addressed the divisive effect of his stance on media scrutiny.

When asked about the familial repercussions of his battle against tabloids, Harry acknowledged its centrality to the rift, lamenting the onslaught of media backlash whenever he speaks about his family.

"I've made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done. It would be nice if we did it as a family," Harry remarked, emphasizing his belief in using his platform to effect positive change, despite the familial strain it has caused.

The Duke of Sussex contrasted his approach with that of his brother, Prince William, who reportedly settled discreetly with News Group Newspapers in 2020. Harry's public pursuit of justice stands in stark contrast to the traditional royal inclination towards silence on such matters.

The documentary promises to shed light on Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to distance themselves from tabloid engagement, citing what they perceive as a destructive impact on their lives and reputations.

Their move to California in 2020 marked a significant shift away from their former roles within the royal family, motivated in part by their desire to shield themselves from media intrusion.

Reflecting on the legal victories thus far, particularly against Mirror Group Newspapers, Harry expressed relief at the judicial vindication.

His legal battles, stemming from allegations of phone hacking and unlawful information gathering, have unearthed unsettling truths about media practices that resonate deeply with him, drawing parallels to his late mother Princess Diana's own struggles with press intrusion.

As the premiere of 'Tabloids on Trial' approaches, Prince Harry's candid revelations continue to ignite conversations about the intersection of media ethics and royal privacy, underscoring his unwavering commitment to challenging tabloid practices despite the personal and familial costs involved.
