    Padraig Harrington wins third straight Dick’s Sporting Goods Open Championship

    ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WETM) – Padraig Harrington has earned another Dick’s Sporting Goods Open title.

    For the 3rd straight year, Padraig Harrington took home the trophy at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open in Endicott. PGA Champions Tour action heated up at En-Joie Golf Club on Friday, with Stephen Ames taking a commanding lead. By the end of Saturday’s 2nd round, Harrington and Ken Tanigawa stormed to the front of the pack, each shooting a 65.

    On Sunday, Tanigawa and Ames slipped back in the field, while Harrington continued a dominant day. Harrington started with 2 pars, before making a statement eagle on the 3rd hole. The defending DSG Open champ pushed on, with 4 birdies and 9 pars, finishing 15 under par for the weekend. Harrington’s score was enough to hold off a charging Mike Weir, who jumped 5 spots with 6 birdies on the scorecard.
