Bears Re-Sign Goalie 'Agawam Phenomenon' Connor McAnanama
The Black Bears starting goalie from last year is returning for the 2024-2025 campaign, the team announced. Connor McAnanama has re-signed with the Binghamton Black Bears after hoisting the Commissioner's Cup with the team in May. CMac was an Empire Division All-Star in 2024 and shared time with Nolan Egbert for much of the season before taking over late to become the team's sole playoff starter in all seven games.
Broome-Tioga BOCES Prepares For Rapid Hiring Event
On Wednesday July 24 Broome-Tioga BOCES will be looking to fill some new positions for the upcoming school year with their Rapid Hiring Event. The event will be held at the Instructional Support Center located at 435 Glenwood Road and is aimed at filling the teacher aide positions, however anyone who is interested in a job at BOCES is encouraged to attend.
Acquitted Arson Suspect Sues Fire Department
A woman who was acquitted of arson charges last year for a fire that occurred in 2022, has filed suit against the Binghamton Fire Department and several law enforcement agencies that she claims were responsible for her malicious prosecution and fourteen months of incarceration. Marquetta James filed suit in US District Court for the Northern District of New York naming six entities and seven named individuals as defendants.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Interim Commissioner Sean Mahar on Monday announced the breaking of a 37-year-old fishing record and congratulated James Britenbaugh of Pennsylvania on his catch, the largest largemouth bass caught in New York.
