DUPONT, Wash. – Gonzaga women's golfer Grace Lee secured a place in the U.S. Amateur Championship with a third-place finish at U.S. Amateur Qualifying at the Home Course on Tuesday. Lee grabbed one of only three available spots at the nation's premier amateur tournament at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., Aug. 5-11. It's finally known when a statue honoring country music legend and "Okie from Muskogee" star Merle Haggard will be unveiled. In early 2023, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and the Merle Haggard Statue Committee announced their plans to enshrine the legendary musician with a bronze statue. It's now known that the Haggard statue will be unveiled on Oct. 10, 2024, and will stand outside the Muskogee Civic Center, which is where he recorded the famous song and live album.
