ASHEVILLE, N.C., (828newsNOW) — An Asheville man will serve at least 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to statutory rape. Christopher Murray Upshaw, 34, pleaded guilty in Buncombe County Superior Court on Monday to statutory rape of a child under the age of 15, a class B1 felony, and was sentenced to 20-29 years in prison, a news release from the district attorney’s office said.
