Engineering, education and enforcement: NCWLIFE joins WPD for first day of school ride-along
WENATCHEE — No traffic tickets were issued by Wenatchee Police Officer Rheid Cline on Wednesday morning during his patrol of Wenatchee school zones. Cline is part of the WPD Traffic Unit that has partnered with the Wenatchee School District to conduct emphasis patrols to begin the 2024-2025 school year. Cline took NCWLIFE on a ride-along on Wednesday and explained the goals of the traffic patrols, which include the three E’s: engineering, education and enforcement.
Wenatchee High Event Aims to Foster Youth Participation in Sports & Atheltics
The Wenatchee High School Athletic department is trying to foster participation interest in high school sports among students in grades K through 8. High School Principal and Athletic Director Eric Anderson has developed the idea of a fun event bringing together local coaches, athletes, youth sports organizations in a fun, family oriented setting. The event has come together as the Youth Sports Spectacular, hosted by Panther Athletics on September 11th from 6-8 PM at the Wenatchee Apple Bowl.
Local nonprofits ensure continuation of CSD K-8 art programs in 2024-2025 school year
LEAVENWORTH – Through a collaborative “Save the K-8 Art Teachers” effort, Village Art in the Park (VAP) and Icicle Creek Center for the Arts (ICCA) were able to support the salaries of two art teachers and $6,000 worth of art supplies for Peshastin-Dryden Elementary, Alpine Lakes Elementary, and Icicle River Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year.
