41Popular Restaurants Close Down; Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Outback

Parent company Bloomin Brands has announced the closing of many locations of three popular restaurants. The Carrabba's in Latham NY, closed it's doors on Friday after 19 years in business. Two other New York locations closed as well. Bloomin Brands issued a statement saying that employees will all be given severance packages.

Hardest hit is Outback Steakhouses, known for their bloomin' onions and highly spiced steaks, with locations in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and every Hawaii restaurant closed. Bonefish Grill, whose sales were down about 3%, is also having locations closed in New Jersey and Virginia.

Another chain, TGI Friday's, is also shutting 36 locations in New York, Massachussetts, and New Jersey.

While all of these chains have similar quality and menu levels, it may be there are just too many of the same choices for people to support.
