DeSantis Already Eyeing 2028: No Congrats for Trump

Ron DeSantis appears to be working on his 2028 presidential run already. He has so far not reached out to congratulate Trump since he endorsed him. He has also made it clear he has no interest in serving under Trump as vice-president, as well as criticizing his running mate search.

Trump’s advisers took exception to the remarks, and several of them lashed out on social media with attacks on DeSantis’ weight and eating habits.

Trump attacked DeSantis throughout 2023, apparently due to personal animosity for DeSantis daring to run against Trump in the primary.

DeSantis, while saying Trump is essentially unbeatable in the primary, does not bring up his own shortcomings as a candidate. He is back in Florida and away from the campaign trail. With over $8 million in his campaign chest remaining, he could use that money to further a second bid for office.

Meanwhile, Florida will get his full attention. Lucky Florida.
