Florida State Troopers to Police Spring Break

Governor DeSantis is sending 140 State Troopers to try to stop violence at this year's spring break. Several locations, including Miami Beach, "will assist with crowd control, DUI checkpoints, license plate readers and directing traffic", according to the Governor.

Two deadly shootings last year led to curfews and a state of emergency. This year, in addition to the troopers on the street, there will be a rapid-response team of 24 troopers on standby in Bay, Volusia, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Miami will have security checkpoints at beach entrances, in addition to other security measures which were approved by the city commission.
