Buffalo man charged with sex trafficking of a child
LANCASTER, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office on Friday said it made an arrest connected to human trafficking. The Lancaster Police Department on Thursday said it identified a teen who was potentially being sex trafficked in the town. A child was forcibly held inside a Western New York home for two years. The victim was locked inside the home for extended periods of home and denied their basic needs. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced that a 58-year-old woman was been sentenced in the case before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges. The victim was threatened and forced to stay inside a Cheektowaga home in the bedroom or garage for long periods of time. The child was denied their basic necessities, including food, clothing, and access to a bathroom. The abuse happened over the course of more than two years. The victim was also physically abused by the couple, including being strangled to the point of losing consciousness.
