National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation; Notice of Request Under Blanket Authorization and Establishing Intervention and Protest Deadline
Take notice that on June 14, 2024, National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation (National Fuel), 6363 Main Street, Williamsville, New York 14221, filed in the above referenced docket, a prior notice request pursuant to sections 157.205 and 157.216 of the Commission's regulations under the Natural Gas Act (NGA), and National Fuel's blanket certificate issued in Docket No. CP83-4-000,[1] for authorization to abandon four (4) injection/withdrawal storage wells within the Zoar Storage Field (Zoar) located in Erie County, New York. National Fuel has determined that the Zoar Wells 0050-I, 0694-I, 0886-I, and 0893-I have elevated levels of general corrosion in the existing production casing, all as more fully set forth in the request which is on file with the Commission and open to public inspection.

USGS Reports 3.4 Magnitude Earthquake in Lake Ontario, Tremors Felt in WNY
It's not often that an earthquake hits New York State, but that's what happened late Friday night. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.4 magnitude quake occurred at 11:45 PM underneath the eastern part of Lake Ontario. The quake was centered approximately 15 kilometers southwest of Henderson, New York in Jefferson County. USGS received reports of the quake being felt in Hamburg in Erie County and as far west as Meadville, Pennsylvania.

NY weather: Weather alert for heavy rain in Erie County Saturday afternoon
The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 12:04 p.m. on Saturday for heavy rain until 1 p.m. for Erie County. "At 12:03 p.m., an area of heavy rain was located over the Buffalo Metro area, moving northeast at 50 mph. This area of heavy rain will result in ponding of water in poor drainage areas," says the weather service.

Buffalo man charged with sex trafficking of a child
LANCASTER, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office on Friday said it made an arrest connected to human trafficking. The Lancaster Police Department on Thursday said it identified a teen who was potentially being sex trafficked in the town. In an undercover operation, officers found the 16-year-old girl in a motel and safely turned her over to her family.
A Child Was Locked Inside WNY Home For 2 Years
A child was forcibly held inside a Western New York home for two years. The victim was locked inside the home for extended periods of home and denied their basic needs. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced that a 58-year-old woman was been sentenced in the case before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges. The victim was threatened and forced to stay inside a Cheektowaga home in the bedroom or garage for long periods of time. The child was denied their basic necessities, including food, clothing, and access to a bathroom. The abuse happened over the course of more than two years. The victim was also physically abused by the couple, including being strangled to the point of losing consciousness.
