BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Jackson Jobe, the No. 11 prospect in all of baseball, dominated for six innings before Jake Higginbotham, Matt Seelinger and Garrett Hill each tossed one hitless inning as the four combined to throw the fifth no-hitter in SeaWolves history in a 3-0 win over Binghamton on Saturday.

Jobe struck out five and allowed just two walks in six strong innings for Erie (50-37). He came out after throwing 70 pitches, including 49 strikes. Higginbotham and Seelinger each tossed a perfect inning and Hill allowed just one walk to get his first save this season with the 'Wolves.

The SeaWolves took a 1-0 lead right away in the first inning on a Binghamton (47-39) error before Jake Holton lifted a sacrifice fly in the third to make it 2-0. Eliezer Alfonzo, who caught the no-hitter, hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to complete the scoring.

The no-hitter on Saturday is the second combined no-hitter in SeaWolves history. Alex Faedo and Drew Carlton combined for one in 2019 against Bowie. Elvin Hernandez had the first no-hitter in 1995 in a 7-0 win at Oneonta before Thad Weber threw one at UPMC Park in 2009 in a 16-0 win against Akron. Casey Mize also had a no-hitter for the 'Wolves in 2019 in Altoona.
