Two teenage boys are facing charges after Erie police said they were seen attempting to hide a firearm in a westside neighborhood on Tuesday night.

Police are now looking into whether the weapon might be connected to any shootings or other gun-related crime.

The boys, ages 14 and 16, are being charged through juvenile allegations in the incident, which happened at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of West 21st Street, Deputy Chief Rick Lorah said Wednesday.

According to Lorah, witnesses reported seeing the boys wrapping the gun in a sweatshirt and attempting to hide it in the neighborhood.

Police recovered the gun and are testing it and attempting to collect forensic evidence from it, Lorah said.

no one in my neighborhood need worry about any crime . I worked night shift for years and now that I'm retired I still stay up all night. so I sit on my porch and watch the neighborhood while they sleep to make sure nothing suspicious is going on.
    it's funny 2 me too.
