    Erie County's first week of Top Performers for District 10's fall sports season

    Each week from now through early November, the Erie Times-News will compile lists of Erie County's top performers among its athletes for District 10's fall sports season.

    As a bonus, notable county results from the opening weekend of District 10's football season also are included:

    Football

    Joe Himes, Cathedral Prep: He recorded the last of the Ramblers' four interceptions, which clinched the Ramblers' 18-6 victory vs. Erie High at Veterans Stadium.

    Tobias Vahey, Harbor Creek: His six-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter was the difference in the Huskies' 13-6 win against the visiting Oil City Oilers.

    Rylan Harwood, Seneca: He accounted for four of the Bobcats' five touchdowns en route to their 35-7 win against Saegertown.

    Blayze Myers, McDowell: The quarterback surpassed 3,000 career passing yards (3,012) with 221 during the Trojans' 34-28 victory vs. Woodland Hills.

    Cole Bennett, Iroquois: The receiver-turned-quarterback for the Braves threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns when they won 40-6 at Cochranton.

    Tyler Benford, Fairview: The Tigers never trailed their 35-0 shutout of Slippery Rock after his two early touchdown runs.

    Nick Lesher, Corry: His 35-yard touchdown run was the difference for the Beavers, who beat the visiting Titusville Rockets 28-22.

    Boys soccer

    Lukas Bentsen, McDowell: He accounted for all but one goal when the Trojans topped the Warren Dragons 5-1.

    Matias Torre, Mercyhurst Prep: His four goals and one assist dominated the offensive categories for the Lakers when they routed Seneca 9-0.

    Hunter Phillis, Harbor Creek: He was in goal for the Huskies when they blanked Mercer 6-0.

    Mava Mboko, Iroquois: His goal was enough for the Braes to beat Saegertown 1-0.

    Carter Sindlinger, General McLane: His four goals comprised more than half the offense for the Lancers, who won 6-0 at Bradford.

    Braxton Johnson, Girard: He scored two goals and assisted on two others during the YellowJackets' 9-0 victory at Conneaut (Ohio).

    Tommy Hartner, North East: His two goals and two assists were notable during the Grapepickers' 10-0 road rout of West Middlesex.

    Noah Ardillo, Fort LeBoeuf: His two goals accounted hall of the off for the Bison, who blanked Corry 4-0.

    Braiden George, Seneca: He scored one of the Bobcats' goals and assisted on the other when they beat Greenville 2-1.

    Girls soccer

    Carmel Frenn, McDowell: She contributed to six Trojans' goals, five of them on assists, when they defeated Franklin 9-0.

    Rowan Wolfe, Harbor Creek: Her four goals were one-third of the Huskies' offense when they routed Oil City 12-0.

    Brenna Kuhl, Seneca: The Bobcats blanked Titusville 6-0 in part from her two-goal, one-assist performance. ... Earlier, she scored or assisted on each of the goals during Seneca's 5-0 shutout of Conneaut (Ohio).

    Abriella Whatmore, McDowell: She scored two goals and assisted on a third for the Trojans, who topped Warren 6-1.

    Kirra DiPaolo, Erie High: Her three-goal, one-assist effort helped the Royals shut out Oil City 7-0.

    Mahra Goodwill, Corry: Her hat trick highlighted the Beavers' 4-1 victory over Iroquois.

    Abbi Enron, Girard: The YellowJackets won 3-1 vs. the visiting Meadville Bulldogs with the aid of her two goals.

    Girls volleyball

    Addica Sperry, Mercyhurst Prep: She totaled 27 kills and 15 digs for the Lakers, who persevered for a five-set victory over the General McLane Lancers. ... Mercyhurst began its week with a four-set win against Harbor Creek, which saw her record eight kills and 10 digs.

    Mags Kennedy, General McLane: Her eight kills and 13 digs aided the Lancers en route to their five-set victory vs. Mercyhurst Prep.

    Angie Hopson, Union City: She recorded seven kills and three blocked shots from the frontline for the Bears, who swept Erie High 26-24, 25-21, 25-20.

    Addison Lucas, Harbor Creek: She totaled 10 assists for the Huskies, who swept the Girard YellowJackets.

    Addy Greene, Fairview: Her 15 assists assisted the Tigers during their four-set victory against Iroquois.

    Alyssa Tingley, Union City: She recorded 16 assists and seven aces for the Bears, who swept the Youngsville Eagles.

    Gabby DeLuca, McDowell: She had a team-high eight kills for the Trojans when they swept North East.

    Addy Tyree, Erie First Christian: She recorded nine kills during the Eagles' 25-9, 25-15, 25-19 victory vs. Tidioute Charter.

    Kamryn Resurrecion, Cathedral Prep: The Ramblers swept Erie High with help from her 24 assists and nine digs.

    Boys golf

    Cooper Wierzchowski, Cathedral Prep: His round of 1-under par 73 not only was the lowest for a Region 5 mega-match at North East's Lake View Country Club, but also helped the Ramblers finish first in the team standings.

    Girls golf

    Cora Hirz, Fairview: She had a nine-hole score of 36, the lowest for a Region 2 mega-match won by the Tigers at North East's Lake View Country Club.

    Girls tennis

    Mary Jane Moubarak, McDowell: She won 6-0, 6-0 as the No. 2 singles starter for the Trojans when they shut out Jefferson (Ohio) 5-0.

    Hannah Nichols, Fairview: She didn't lose a game during her No. 1 singles victory for the Tigers, who also blanked Ashtabula (Ohio) Edgewood 5-0.
