The listeria outbreak that plagued Boar's Head and forced the permanent shuttering of an entire plant, is now forcing a nationwide poultry product provider to recall nearly 10 million pounds of chicken products due to a possible listeria outbreak.

And of even more concern, those produce were widely distributed to and sold from several popular supermarkets, including Aldi, Trader Joe's and Walmart.

Here's what you need to know about the recall, and what to do if you have purchased any of the recalled products.

Which products are on the chicken recall list?

The United States Department of Agriculture's Food Service and Safety division alerted consumers of the recall of 9,986,245 pounds of poultry products produced by the Oklahoma-based BrucePac company due to a possible listeria outbreak.

"The ready-to-eat meat and poultry items were produced from June 19, 2024, to October 8, 2024," read the USDA's recall alert . "These products were shipped to other establishments and distributors nationwide then distributed to restaurants and institutions. Information regarding product labels and the list of products will be provided when available.

"The products subject to recall bear establishment numbers '51205 or P-51205' inside or under the USDA mark of inspection."

The USDA updated its recall list to reflect the broadening recall.

Several chicken salads and other chicken products sold at H-E-B and Trader Joe's.

Published reports indicate Aldi and Walmart also carried some of the since-recalled chicken products.

The USDA warned that the chicken products may have even made its way into chain restaurants.

" FSIS is concerned that some product may be available for use in restaurants, institutions, and other establishments," read the USDA's recall notice. "These other establishments may have used affected meat and poultry in ready-to-eat products that may be on store shelves or in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.

"Restaurants, institutions, and other establishments are urged not to serve or use these products."

I brought chicken from Trader Joes. What should I do?

So far, the USDA says it has no reports of anyone sickened by consuming any of BrucePac's chicken products. The USDA advises you to either destroy the chicken products or return them to the store for a refund.

And consumers who have food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or send a question via email to MPHotline@usda.gov .
