Delta Animal Shelter’s July Pets of the Month

ESCANABA, Mich. (WJMN) – The Delta Animal Shelter has three animals looking for their forever homes for July’s Pets of the Month.

First up is Rocco , a three-year-old large mixed breed male dog. This friendly boy is very affectionate and loves to meet new people. Rocco is social, loves to play, and has an adventurous soul. His adoption fee is $50.

“He is super sweet and loving, and he loves people. He especially loves kids. So, he would do great in a family with kids. He’s looking to be the only dog in the home. He just likes to be the king of the castle,” said Delta Animal Shelter’s Adoption Specialist Vonnie Bruce.

Next up is a bonded pair of cats. Jed is a two-year-old Siamese male cat. He’s a chatty, handsome boy who loves attention. And his best friend Bunny is a three-year-old domestic shorthair female cat. Bunny gets along with other cats and is very friendly. Bunny and Jed would both do best in a quiet, slow-paced home. Their adoption fee together is $25.

“They are a bonded pair. So, what that means is that they do have to find a home together. They make each other comfortable and feel safe. They live together and we would like to keep them together,” said Bruce.

If you would like to adopt Jed and Bunny or Rocco, you can apply online at deltaanimal.org or visit the shelter during open hours Monday through Friday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Delta Animal Shelter is currently running reduced rates on all cats and dogs through the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters event. All cat adoption fees are $25, and most dogs will be $50. This event will run until July 31.
