West Coast Pizza Company to Replace Killer Pizza From Mars

A new pizza concept called West Coast Pizza Company is getting ready to debut later this year in Escondido , located at 1040 West El Norte Parkway .

Co-owners Gary Garfine and Alexander Ilic recently submitted a liquor license application to open the new pizza concept in the former home of Killer Pizza From Mars, which closed its doors last year. While the exact details regarding the new concept are yet to be determined, it will replace a beloved pizza shop that has been within El Norte Parkway Plaza since 1999. The original location of Killer Pizza From Mars remains open at 3772 Mission Avenue, Suite 126, in Oceanside.

Garfine is no stranger to the restaurant industry. On top of owning Solid Construction Builders, Inc., the San Diego local has been a franchisee of Jersey Mike’s for several years. The franchise owner started with the company as a general contractor for Jersey Mike’s in 2008. He eventually worked his way up to opening his own locations, including a site in Fallbrook at 833 South Main Street. During the grand opening in 2015, Garfine supported the Boys & Girls Club of North County, offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to the organization.

Now, the experienced restaurant owner is getting ready to open his own concept, which is expected to open in the coming months. Customers can expect plenty of pizza and Italian options and a handful of alcoholic choices. This will be an excellent location for the West Coast Pizza Company, which will become the only independent pizza shop in the area. Nearby, the restaurant must compete with Round Table, Papa Johns, Marco’s Pizza, and Pizza Time. This restaurant has no relation to West Coast Pizza in Berkeley or West Coast Pizza Company in Monmouth, OR, which are both now-closed establishments.
