Man United's Scott McTominay completes Napoli transfer

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has sealed a £25 million ($33 million) move to Serie A side Napoli , both clubs announced hours before Friday's transfer deadline.

The Scotland international, 27, was keen to secure more regular first-team football. He made 43 appearances last season, although many of those came from off the bench.

Both Fulham and Everton were interested in the midfielder this summer, but a source told ESPN he has been reluctant to join another Premier League club. The move to Napoli ends his over 20-year association with United, who he joined at the aged six.

"McTominay will be missed by everyone at the club and leaves with our best wishes as he embarks on a new chapter of his career in Italy," United said in a statement.

He was swarmed by Napoli fans when he landed in Naples on Thursday ahead of his medical. His move to club sees him rejoin forces with former United teammate Romelu Lukaku , who joined the Serie A side from Chelsea on a permanent tranfer on Thursday.
