SEATTLE -- For as well as the Seattle Seahawks ' defense played for most of the team's 3-1 start, takeaways were a glaring absence, with only three over the first four games.

That changed in a hurry Sunday at Lumen Field -- and in wild fashion.

The New York Giants drove 79 yards to the Seattle 1 on their opening possession and went for it on fourth-and-goal. But what was about to be a 7-0 deficit instead became a 7-0 lead when linebacker Jerome Baker forced running back Eric Gray to fumble at the goal line. Safety Rayshawn Jenkins picked it up in the end zone and returned it 102 yards for a touchdown.

According to ESPN Research, it tied for the third-longest fumble return for a touchdown in NFL history.

It was a welcome-to-Seattle moment for Baker, who was signed in March but has been in and out of the lineup so far with a lingering hamstring injury. His first big play as a Seahawk resulted in a 14-point swing.
