Celtics to waive Lonnie Walker, sources say

The Boston Celtics are waiving guard Lonnie Walker IV , sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Tuesday.

Walker, 25, joined the Celtics on a non-guaranteed exhibit-10 deal over the summer and averaged 7.3 points in 16.4 minutes in four preseason games.

Walker played last for the Brooklyn Nets , averaging nearly 10 points in 23.2 minutes per game. The former No. 18 pick in 2018 has shot 37.5% from 3 on 4.6 attempts over the last two years.

Waiving Walker leaves the Celtics' 15th roster spot open heading into the start of the regular season.
