Estacada School District is once again hosting its summer park series, promising all kinds of fun and information on the schools.

“Last year we had great attendance at each event and hope to connect with many families again this summer,” said Maggie Kelly, director of communications for the Estacada School District said.

There will be free food and drinks, music, super fun activities and raffles, featuring some cool Ranger gear. Representatives of the schools will be on hand to answer questions about the schools and district.

“We will have school supply lists and school staff available to answer questions and provide information. We will also have some of our new and current administration dropping by so it is a great time to meet staff, Kelly said.

The community recently voted down a bond for the district to improve facilities and Kelly said the district will address the big question of ‘what happens now’ with the concerns surrounding the district’s aging buildings and overcrowding.

“We will also be briefly discussing our steps moving forward with addressing our facility needs, so this is an event that is relevant to the whole community, not just district parents,” she said.

The series kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25 at Fred Campanella Memorial Park, 1560 N. Broadway.

The next event will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 at Timber Park, 30878 N.W. Evergreen Way.

The next opportunity is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Wade Creek Park, 747 N.W. Wade St. followed by 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at Eagle Fern Park, 27505 S.E. Eagle Fern Road, Eagle Creek.

The last two events will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 13 at Metzler Park, 24526 S. Metzler Park Road and 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.20 at Milo McIver State Park, 24101 S. Entrance Road.

The entry fee is waived for the parks that charge fees.
