    HCSO: Two men charged for eluding law enforcement

    HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Holmes County Sheriff’s Office arrested two for eluding officers and reckless driving over the weekend.

    On Friday, officers said they witnessed James McKnight driving a four-wheeler down Highway 79 in Esto. When the officer tried to initiate a traffic stop, McKnight drove into a field and onto John Clark Road where he then crashed.

    McKnight faces multiple charges including fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, and a violation of state probation.

    On Saturday, an officer tried to stop Jason Canen on Highway 2 in a Mustang when he began to flee and ended up in Jackson County on Mill Creek Road.

    Canen was taken into custody without further incident. He is charged with fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement and reckless driving.
