City of Richmond announces plan for repairs to Tredegar Pipeline Trail Pipe following sewage spill
The City of Richmond continues to work with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regarding two isolated events that occurred during July 2024 at the Tredegar Pipeline Trail. These are two separate incidents and not a continual leak. Initial investigation showed that the first leak on July 2 was related to a wet weather event and was exacerbated by a stormwater connection from an adjacent commercial property. The City reported this to DEQ within 24 hours as required. The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities confirmed there were no leaks on July 3. There were also no citizen reports of the pipe leaking for the two weeks between the two incidents. The July 2 incident has been closed by DEQ.
Augusta County gunshot victim flown to UVA; police on the hunt for suspect
The adult victim, whose identity has not been released, was flown from Riverheads Elementary School to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville for treatment. His condition is currently unknown. Grant funding to help mark anniversary of American Revolution
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A free, Charlottesville-wide event is getting some money to help mark the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. On Thursday, Virginia Humanities announced more than $162,000 in grants for 20 nonprofits across the Commonwealth. Locally, the University of Virginia is getting $7,500 to support the Cville Puzzle Hunt 2025.
