The New Source of Smoke Over Southern Idaho
A line of thundershowers cleared the air briefly, but we woke up Friday morning in the Magic Valley under a shroud of smoke. It’s probably not from any of the lightning strikes Thursday evening, or not all of it is related to new fires. One of the biggest blazes in Idaho is burning in Central/Western Owyhee County. The Silver Fire was first reported on Wednesday. According to the Idaho Fire Map, it looks to be among the largest currently roasting in the state. It doesn’t appear to rival the multiple blazes scorching eastern Oregon, but there’s a history of massive fires in Owyhee County.

An event called Paranormal Cirque is in a tent, or that’s what I’ve been told. The Christians believe God-fearing people in the Magic Valley need to make a statement and offer an alternative for people looking for answers in tarot cards, palm readings, and soothsayers.

The dangerously high temperatures on Thursday will cool to a much more tolerable 84 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota. Cartwheels and Double-features – the Dash-In and West Drive-In
(Riverton, WY) – It was the perfect combination, but it wasn’t salt and sweet like the cartwheels and ice cream cones, it was a business, a business well ahead of its time. The Dash-In, operated by Steve and Vonda (McCoy) Jepson was a unique venue for a non-franchised, fast food restaurant.
