Torrential Monsoon Rains, Flooding Possible In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says torrential rains leading to flooding are possible in southeast Wyoming today and especially on Saturday [July 27]. The agency posted the following on its website: brief return of monsoon moisture is expected on Friday and Saturday. This will bring scattered to numerous storms to the area during the afternoon and evening. Torrential rains could exist in these storms which could lead to possible flooding concerns on both days.
2,577 horses rounded up in BLM North Lander horse gather
CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Bureau of Land Management’s efforts to control horse populations in the North Lander Complex is complete, with 2,577 total horses rounded up. According to a BLM Facebook post, the creatures were gathered from BLM-managed public lands and adjacent private lands where they had moved outside of the complex.

JACKSON, Wyo. — Violence, abuse and neglect are among the top issues of concern in Teton County, according to the new 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment. CHEYENNE, Wyo., July 26, 2024 — Two rides in the rare 90-point range highlighted Semi Finals 1 at the 128th Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo (CFD) on Friday. Newly crowned collegiate all-around and bull riding champion Wacey Schalla of Arapaho, Oklahoma, became the first bull rider at Frontier Park this year to score above 90 points. Schalla was matched with Dakota Rodeo’s bull Sneaky Situation for the second time this month. Over the 4th of July Schalla scored 86.5 points on Sneaky Situation to tie for first place in Mandan, North Dakota.
