Casper council grills airport officials on MRG cancelation; circumstances were complicated
CASPER, Wyo. — They were almost as unpleasant as airplane food and almost as uncomfortable as sitting in an 18-inch seat next to someone with poor hygiene. The unpleasantness and discomfort were questions and comments to Casper-Natrona County International Airport officials by Casper City Council members Tuesday about the sudden — to them at least — cancellation of the minimum revenue guarantee for the lone SkyWest-Delta connection after the council pledged $400,000 to it.
A new face for City Hall unveiled
The Douglas City Hall will soon receive a facelift, and now we have a better idea of what the nondescript building at Fourth and Center streets may look like. The city council voted in July to accept a $389,000 bid from K&R Construction, of Douglas to replace and repair the building’s facade. K&R is partially owned by Douglas City Councilman Ron McNare.

2,800 lightning strikes from storms Wednesday leads to 15 new wildfire starts
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The U.S. Forest Service reports that 15 new fire starts have been detected in the past 24 hours in Idaho, with more expected. Strong winds and thunderstorms across eastern Oregon and western Idaho Wednesday further complicated matters for fire managers as resources are already stretched thin. The National Weather Service in Boise reports 2,800 lightning strikes came from the storms on Wednesday, leading Forest Service personnel to believe more fires could soon be detected.
