Summer Heat Returns, Smoke Moves Out
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Things are pretty hot out there and we’ll have hotter temperatures coming in soon. Since things are dry and hot, we are under a Fire Weather Watch until tomorrow night. The watch includes many areas of Wyoming from central to eastern Wyoming and including the Nebraska panhandle. Be very careful with sources of ignition and with any burning out there as fire could be spread quickly. The air quality alert that we were under today has expired as the smoke is finally thinning and moving out of the area. A bit of smoke will stick around in a few areas but it’ll be much thinner and not nearly as prevalent.
Missing 20-year-old Wyoming woman found safe
UPDATE: JUly 25 at 10:47 a.m. The 20-year-old missing Wyoming woman Liana Welde has been found safe and unharmed Wednesday night. According to a release form the Big Horn County, Wyoming Sheriff's Office, Welde police officers had contacted and identified Welde in the City of Billings at around 8 p.m.
Thief Caught Red-Handed After Trying to Outrun Wyoming Troopers
A woman is facing a felony theft charge after Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers reportedly caught her holding the keys to a stolen vehicle. According to a booking sheet, it all started at 1:34 p.m. on July 14, 2024, after a trooper was dispatched to a hazardous vehicle at milepost 4 on northbound Interstate 25, about three miles south of Cheyenne, and arrived to find an unoccupied vehicle parked along the west shoulder.

WYOMING — Wyomingites can help track Monarch butterflies as they fly through the state this summer and fall. All-conference accolades were announced for Wyoming Legion Baseball’s Single-A teams on Tuesday. The lists include first-team and second-team honors for the 2024 season. The head coaches in each district (West and East) voted for the honors. The eight teams in the Northwest and Southwest conferences make up the West All-Conference selections. Game and Fish Commission Approved $102 M Budget; Dubois man awarded EOY
The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission met last week in Buffalo. The seven-member board approved the annual Wyoming Game and Fish Department budget — a regular task at July meetings. The standard operational budget, which supports the day-to-day work of the department, was approved at $102 million. Game and Fish doesn’t receive state general fund dollars. The bulk of the budget comes from sportspeople.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Street vendors took to the Cheyenne Depot Plaza and 15th Street on Wednesday for the city’s annual block party. Games and attractions proliferated the street through much of the day. The Wyoming Dairy Goat Association held a makeshift petting zoo consisting of dairy goats, Colorado mountain dogs and chickens.
