Lander Golfer at UW named an All-America Scholar
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for the 2023-24 season on Thursday and the University of Wyoming men's golf team led the Mountain West and was one of 25 teams in America to have five or more All-America Scholars. The five Cowboys named All-America Scholars are: Patrick Azevedo of Osello, Wash.; Jaren Calkins of Lander, Wyo.; Jimmy Dales of Northfield, Mich.; Kristof Panke of Davenport, Washl,; and Davis Seybert of Midland, Texas.

Idaho Humane Society steps up to find homes for rescued California dogs
Boise, Idaho (CBS2) - The Idaho Humane Society is joining other shelters to help find homes for 50 dogs rescued from a home in California. 30 dogs arrived in Boise on Friday. They came from a shelter in Riverside, California. That shelter has faced three separate hoarding cases in the Coachella Valley. 50 dogs were found in one of the homes. There were 20 dogs in another home.

Wildfire near Salmon grows over 2,000 acres
SALMON — A fire burning near a lake has reached over 2,000 acres. The “Thunder Fire” is burning sage, grass, and fir. According to the U.S. Forest Service-Salmon-Challis National Forest, the fire is approximately two miles northwest of Williams Lake and about 11 miles southwest of Salmon.
