Texas Sues Biden Over Teen Contraception
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the Biden administration over a federal program that provides teens (among others) with free birth control without parental consent. The program is called Title X. It’s a Nixon-era program that provides confidential contraception to anyone, regardless of age, income or citizenship. Paxton says Title X defies a 2020 ruling involving a Texas father sued because he said Title X “violated his parental rights”. The 5th Circuit judge in that case ruled in favor of the father.
