DNR To Host CWD Public Meeting In Pierce County
MADISON, Wis. (WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES PRESS RELEASE) - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced it will host a public meeting with the Pierce County Deer Advisory Council to provide information on chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Wisconsin, local testing efforts and disease surveillance options being considered. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, in Spring Valley.

Stories you might have missed form across Wisconsin. Preparations for the RNC have been going on around Milwaukee for months. Friday afternoon, a group of Milwaukee Public school students got a chance to put their mark on a small but high profile part of the convention, the balloon drop. A group of 14 students who are part of a paid summer internship program working as hotel ambassadors for the RNC delegates inflated over 100,000 balloons. The iconic balloon drop will happen after the candidates acceptance speech Thursday night.
