18-year-old arrested in shooting that wounded 4 teens
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita police announced the arrest of an 18-year-old man in a shooting that wounded four other teens in the 2300 block of E. Murdock on July 11. Sedgwick County Jail booking reports show Travon Johnson was arrested for the shooting. His charges include aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.
Semi with no driver crashes between 2 Kansas homes
DOUGLAS COUNTY—Authorities are investigating a crash that occurred just after 1:30p.m. Thursday in the city of Lawrence. A driverless semi rolled about 300 feet from 11th and Maine, through a 4-foot retaining wall, over a patio, between two houses, and came to rest against a home’s foundation, according to a social media report from the Lawrence Police Department. Considering the journey, the crash caused little damage and there were no injuries.

KU Cancer Center, Health System receive $20 million in federal investments
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The University of Kansas Cancer Center and The University of Kansas Health System have received $10 million apiece in federal investments. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran announced the news on Friday afternoon. The KU Cancer Center will use the money for the new cancer building, while the health system will use it for advanced cardiac technology to be used for patient care.
