How to Celebrate National Dog Day in Henderson

In case you didn't know, August 26th is National Dog Day.

    What is National Dog Day?

National Dog Day is meant to encourage dog ownership for all breeds.

The National Dog Day Foundation aims to rescue at least 10,000 dogs annually.

Don't worry; as an individual, your Dog Day ambition can be much lower.

    How To Celebrate

If you already own a dog, it's simple: do something fun with your dog.

If not, look into adoption. By that, I mean do some research; I don't mean to run out and adopt a dog right away. Adoption is a big commitment that should be fully considered first.

    How To Celebrate in Henderson

    Adoption

Adopting a dog is a big responsibility. But, if you're ready to take the leap, the City of Henderson makes it easy for you. All you have to do is visit this site to get started.

    Dog Parks

If you're a dog owner, you probably already know that Henderson is an extremely dog-friendly city.

In fact, Mars Pet Care certified the City of Henderson as a "Better City for Pets." Henderson is one of just 25 cities in the country to earn that recognition.

The city's 21 dog parks—the full list of them can be found here—are a big reason for that.
