Oregon New Football Uniforms
The University of Oregon showcased its new look for its new conference. Welcome to the "Fly Era" look for the start of the Big Ten season.
Oregon was a trailblazer when it came to hyping the program with promotions, billboards, and uniform changes.
It worked - the Joey Harrington Heisman promotional billboard in Times Square got the attention the school was looking for, and ever since the tweaks to the team's look over the years have always brought attention.
The variety of looks became associated with the team and the school. It was brash, it was forward-thinking, and it was a big deal to coincide with an era of success in the 2000s that kept on going.
With the move to the Big Ten, Oregon has unveiled an all-black look for its "Fly Era" style to mark the new era for the school and the athletic department.
Former running back De'Anthony Thomas was featured in the video release of the look, with wings on the helmet instead of the more traditional Oregon O - even though there isn't a traditional style to the look now with all the changes.
The Ducks kick off the Big Ten season against a fellow former Pac-12 team with a trip to UCLA, and then come the new conference matchups with Michigan State and Ohio State coming to Eugene to start October.
In Big Ten play, after dealing with Ohio State, the Ducks get at Purdue, Illinois, at Michigan, Maryland, at Wisconsin, and close out with a Pac-12 mainstay, Washington.
