Oregon Ducks land massive predictions to get commitment from 5-star safety

The coming days are going to be massively important for Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks on the recruiting front, and it appears that we could be in for some fireworks.

A pair of 5-star safeties are scheduled to announce their commitments this week, with DJ Pickett making it official on Wednesday, July 17, and Trey McNutt announcing on Friday, July 19.

On Tuesday, a pair of predictions came in for Pickett, the No. 6 overall player in the 2025 class, to ultimately choose the Ducks. On3’s Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction with a 60% confidence rating, while 247Sports’ Tom Loy put in a Crystal Ball pick at 6/10 on the confidence scale.

After landing 5-star WR Dakorien Moore, the highest-rated recruit in program history, this would be a huge get for the Ducks, who are surging in the recruiting world right now.

Oregon already has a commitment from 5-star CB Dorian Brew in this class as well, so adding a pair of 5-star safeties would be very impactful.
