Analyst Reveals Bold Claim On Oregon Ducks For 2024

The Oregon Ducks have moved to the Big Ten, ending their 56-year tenure in the Pac-12 (which was originally known as the Pac-8).

Many are wondering how Oregon will handle the transition, as the Big Ten is widely regarded as the superior conference to the Pac-12.

Plus, the Ducks just lost quarterback Bo Nix to NFL Draft.

However, draft expert Matt Miller is expecting big things from Oregon in 2024.

The Ducks have imported quarterback Daniel Gabriel—a Heisman Trophy favorite—from the University of Oklahoma, where he spent the last couple of seasons.

Gabriel recently named Big Ten preseason honors, as did wide receiver Tez Johnson.

Oregon has logged three straight double-digit win campaigns and has achieved that feat 11 times overall since 2008, when it truly started to become a national power.

The Ducks even made it all the way to the national championship in 2014, where they lost to Ohio State.

How different will things be for Oregon this season?

The departure of Nix cannot be understated. He threw 45 touchdowns and just three interceptions last season, and while Gabriel is coming off of a terrific year himself, it will be tough to match those numbers.

Especially in the Big Ten.

Not to take anything away from Oregon, but it will certainly feel quite a bit different being matched up against the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Co. after spending so many years in a good—but not great—conference.

Last season, Oregon went 12-2, ultimately losing to Washington twice. First, the Ducks fell to the Huskies in mid-October, and then they lost to them in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Oregon has actually not won a conference title since 2020.

Chances are, the Ducks will have a much more difficult time rattling off double-digit win seasons from here on out.
