The Oregon Ducks are still a cult of personality years after Chip Kelly walked out the door. Head coach Dan Lanning wants to seamlessly transition his program into the Big Ten in 2024. A now-famous giant inflatable duck was seen in Indianapolis at Big Ten media days this week.

They sent the flagship of the Oregon navy , and it was a beautiful sight. The duck, with unknown measurements, will make it's way across the Big Ten this fall. According to Lanning , he wants to "travel that duck" to all of the team's away games in 2024.

As new Big Ten members, we'll be making trips to Purdue, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It's fun to imagine this decked-out giant mascot in Ann Arbor or one of the nearby lakes in Wisconsin.

Oregon is among the four institutions transitioning to the Big Ten this year from the Pac-12, stepping into the league with UCLA, USC, and Washington. As they enter the season, Oregon is highly favored as the leading team among its new conference peers and is considered one of the main contenders for the Big Ten title.

Before the start of the Big Ten Media Days, Oregon celebrated as two of its players earned Big Ten honors. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel and wide receiver Tez Johnson were highlighted among the list of 12 standout players.

Gabriel, who joined Oregon from Oklahoma during the offseason, emerged as the leading candidate for the 2024 Heisman Trophy following an impressive season where he passed for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns, with an additional 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Johnson, on his part, earned his spot as the team's leading receiver after Troy Franklin's exit, finishing the previous season with 86 catches for 1,182 yards and 10 touchdowns.

While a third of the teams in the expanded 18-team Big Ten already presented at the Media Days on Tuesday, Oregon's appearance is scheduled for Thursday. This gives Oregon additional time to prepare and possibly make a significant impact at the White River or throughout Indianapolis itself.

Oregon hopes its participation in the Big Ten Media Days will not be its only noteworthy appearance in Indianapolis this season. It aims to return for the Big Ten championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium on December 7.
