Oregon had a huge Saturday, securing 2024 5-star safety Trey McNutt , along with 2025 4-star quarterback Jonas Williams . Adding to their haul, Oregon is competing with the top Big Ten programs on the recruiting trail .

Oregon slots in with the second-most 2025 blue chip commits in the Big Ten

Entering the weekend, Oregon had 13 blue chip commits in the 2025 class. McNutt brings their total up to 14, putting them two ahead of Michigan, and four behind Ohio State.

For the Ducks, they added the No. 1 wide receiver in the country and 5-star plus recruit in Dakorien Moore , recruiting him out of Texas. It was a massive coup. Moore became the highest ranked recruit in Oregon history, taking that honor from now-New York Giant defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Moore tops a list that includes Thibodeaux, offensive lineman Haloti Ngata, running back Jonathan Stewart, and others.

McNutt was a big get on the defensive side of the ball. The highly athletic safety out of Ohio gives the Ducks a potential stalwart on the back end of their secondary as they will line up against elite offensive weapons in their new conference.

Oregon's recruiting has them primed for success

Head coach Dan Lanning and his team have been putting in work, building a roster that is ready to contend not only in their conference, but for National Championships.

Two ducks for two new Ducks. Fitting.

Oregon's roster will be headlined by a new No. 1 wide receiver in Evan Stewart , who joins Oregon from Texas A&M in the transfer portal. They'll also role out a new quarterback in Dillon Gabriel . What's crucial to sustaining success for Oregon is not just what they are able to put on the field this year, but in building a pipeline of talent behind them.

In college football, you have to constantly be planning for the future. Ideally, you're building a team of talented players that will continue their careers at the next level, and building a recruiting pipeline to have depth to step in behind them. Rosters constantly turn over in all sports, but especially in college football.

Lanning and his recruiting pipeline are stocking the shelves with blue chip talents.
