The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris are fast approaching, with the opening ceremony set for July 26 and the Olympic flame not extenguished until Aug. 11. A growing contingent of athletes with LSU and Louisiana ties have qualfied or been selected to compete in Paris, with more likely on the way. As of July 1 there were 19 athletes plus one athlete from Lafayette who were in the Games, with 13 more LSU athletes expected to qualify.
